Engineering Intern – Medical Device Development
We are looking for enthusiastic interns to join Labionix, a start-up headquartered in Montreal’s Old Port, focused on developing innovative medical devices. The internship can be part-time or full-time, lasting 4-6 months, with a potential paid extension. You will contribute to the fabrication, assembly, and testing of cutting-edge sensing devices, making this a perfect opportunity to expand your knowledge in microfabrication, microfluidics, 3D printing, MEMS, molecular biology, and optical sensing. We encourage applications from undergraduate and graduate students in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, and Electrical Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, and test sensing devices.
- Modify CAD designs and prepare them for manufacturing.
- Develop and document protocols/SOPs for fabrication and testing, and record results.
- Conduct literature reviews
- Attend and actively participate in weekly progress meetings to discuss project updates and challenges.
- Collaborate closely with the electrical, biology, and AI teams to ensure smooth integration of device components.
Qualifications:
- Current Master’s or PhD student in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- Experience or interest in wet lab environments
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks preferred)
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics and surface chemistry
- Familiarity with microfabrication and rapid prototyping tools like 3D printers
- Strong teamwork and attention to detail
- Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week

We encourage applications from undergraduate and graduate students in biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemistry, and other life science fields.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate, master’s, or PhD students, or recent graduates in biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, or related fields.
